From Vision to Reality: My Laser Engraving Journey & the Unique Gifts I’ve Created

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be running a laser engraving business, I probably would have laughed, shrugged, and said, “Yeah, that sounds like something I’d do.” Because let’s be real—I’ve always been drawn to creative projects, even if they start as a chaotic whirlwind of ideas. And that’s exactly how Perso by J was born: part inspiration, part necessity, and a whole lot of “let’s see if this works.”

The Leap Into Laser Engraving

Starting a business is a mix of excitement and absolute terror. I wanted to create something unique—something meaningful. I didn’t just want to sell products; I wanted to craft pieces that tell a story. And laser engraving? It checked all the boxes. It allows me to turn an ordinary object into something personal, something unforgettable.

But let’s be honest, the learning curve was steep. Figuring out machine settings, testing different materials, and (accidentally) burning through a few projects—it’s been an adventure. I quickly learned that engraving is part science, part art, and a whole lot of trial and error.

Now? I’m hooked. And I’ve made some pretty cool things along the way.
